Lamb Day


Lion Day and Lamb Day can be done in the month of March for keeping track of lion and lamb weather days!


All About Sheep for Kids - A good page of information, photographs, and links.

KidsFarm - This site contains a small amount of information and a story about three lost lambs, with sound clips of the reunion with their mother!

Zoom - This links to a dramatic play which can be put on by the students called "Lost and Found Sheep."

American Sheep Industry Association - This links to a special area just for kids with facts and activities all related to sheep.

Sheep: Facts About Michigan Sheep - This site has facts as well as information on caring for newborn lambs and how fleece becomes a sweater.

Farmer Brown Shears His Sheep: A Yarn About Wool by Teri Sloat.
Farmer Brown's sheep get cold when they have been sheared.  They then track down their sheared fleece and make sweaters.

A nonfiction book about the growth of lamb.

The Lamb and the Butterfly by Arnold Sundgaard.
A lamb and a butterfly compare their ways of living.

The Lion and the Little Red Bird by Elisa Kleven.

Smudge, the Little Lost Lamb by James Herriot.
A young girl finds a lost lamb and is delighted to return it to its owner.

Snip, Snip, Little Lambs by Tomie dePaola.
Some sheep get their spring haircuts!

The Snow Lambs by Debi Gliori.
A little boy worries his shepherding dog has run away.  However, the dog has guided a ewe home on a stormy night which leads to the birth of two lambs.
