Teachers find plans at ThemeDay

By Gwen Davis
The Cincinnati Enquirer

A former teacher found that her colleagues were having trouble navigating Web sites for lesson plans. The teachers felt intimidated. So Mary Zinn-Beiting, M.Ed., decided it was time to help teachers by making lesson plans easier. In August 1999 she created themeday.com.

ThemeDay.com is a site for K-Grade 2 educators, home school teachers and parents to obtain lesson plans related to a specific theme.

Each lesson plan has printable worksheets, links to related sites, literature suggestions and detailed lesson plans. The plans include specific subjects such as language arts, social studies, math, science, art and movement

The site can be recommended for substitute teachers who sometimes do not have specific lesson plans and parents who want to spark creativity in their children.

Themeday.com is looking for corporate sponsorship. Adopt a theme and help a child.
